A message from your coach:

Wow! What an amazing day! Can we say 808 sweep? 4 out of our 4 teams finished in the top 12!  Moreover, 2 of our teams finished in the top 6 and our top team (Team 3) had an overall time of 21:42, the next best team 44:11! DO MORE! On the Individual side of the Showdown, Coach Josh, had a stellar performance, finishing in 2nd place! I am so proud of him! I could not have taken home 1st place if it weren't for him pushing me through each workout and keeping my mindset positive.

Huge thank you to Gabe Amey, owner and manager of Hawaii VA Loans, for all his hardwork as well as the team at Hawaii VA Loans for a phenomenal event. Putting an event on like the Showdown, especially with the large growth in participants, takes months of preparation, effort, and time. I am so very grateful! The entire CrossFit 808 nation is grateful! Thank you!

To the judges and Head Judge Coach John: You guys have a tough job (judging is not easy), but I can honestly say you were all top notch and very consistent throughout the day - just like your leader.

To the volunteers: This event could not have happened without all your hardwork and I am always appreciative for everyone who volunteers their time. Thank you! 

To all the CrossFit 808 athletes that competed for us: You guys were all absolutely amazing! I could not be more proud of the performances I watched. You guys represented your box very well! To have all finished in the top 12 speaks volume for the consistency of our athletes. You guys have worked hard over the past few weeks and it paid off. I hope this local competition motivates you to get better for more upcoming events and the Games season.

Finally, to the CrossFit 808 nation... THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU GUYS! Everything I do, I do to make you guys proud, and I speak for all of our athletes that competed, when I say, you guys make the difference during the competition when the going gets tough. Hearing your voices at the very moment my mind is telling me to put the bar down or stop moving, pushes me to grab one more rep and one more rep and one more rep. I hope you guys had a blast at the event! Thank you guys for giving up your Sunday to support your box. You make 808 one of the best boxes in the state!
