Good Paleo Eats!

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
-Steve Jobs

The high HANG SNATCH, starts with the barbell in the hanging position.  For most athletes, the hang snatch starts in the high hang position and then drop/dip down to the mid-thigh position.  This dip to the mid-thigh allows the athlete to jump, therefore generate power for the snatch.

The MID-THIGH SNATCH, starts with the barbell in the mid-thigh position. For the mid-thigh snatch the start is static.  From the mid-thigh position the athlete jumps the bar up and receives it in the squat position.

The SNATCH has the barbell starting from the ground or mid-shins.  Now the athlete will generate momentum through the initial deadlift to the pockets. From the pockets, the movement will mimic that of the mid-thigh snatch.

The catch or receiving of the barbell for all three of the lifts today will end in the full squat, with knees out, lumbar curve in tack, crease of the hip below the knee cap, active shoulders, elbows locked out and head in a neutral position.
