JOIN THE #800gCHALLENGE®
WHAT IS IT?
The #800gChallenge was designed by OptimizeMe Nutrition. Eat 800 grams (g) of fruits and/or vegetables, by weight, per day.
No foods are eliminated, but only fruits and veggies count toward the 800g. Eat the fruits and veggies of your choice. Hit the macros you want.
Raw, cooked, canned, frozen; doesn’t matter! If you can weigh it as a standalone and unprocessed fruit or vegetable, you can count it. Yep, that’s it! Here’s a one-sheet with all the rules.

The Open is coming!
If you haven't heard yet, the CrossFit Games Open has now moved to the months of October and November. That is right, the 2020 CrossFit Games Open starts this week! The first workout will be announced on Thursday, October 10th and we will do the workout on Friday during classes and our Friday Night Lights event! You will no longer be seeing the Open in February.
What is the Open?
The Open is a five-week test of fitness, guided by CrossFit Headquarters (HQ). HQ will release one new workout per week on Thursdays, and the entire global community will have till Monday to complete the workout (aka plug in your scores). There are 3 divisions for the workouts: RX, Scaled and Masters/Teens.
Should I do the Open?
Absolutely. As intimidating as the Open might sound, the Open is really for everyone! There is a strong community aspect that always shines through during the Open season. Not to mention Coach Kate takes some amazing photos every workout for you to enjoy and remember the fun you had!
I also love the energy the Open brings. I love watching the coaches and members cheer each other on. I love seeing our members get out of their comfort zones and hit personal bests. I love seeing our gym "suffer" together. And, remember, all the workouts are scalable, so you do not need to worry about not being able to do something.

How do I sign-up?
If I have convinced you that the Open is going to be awesome and you would like to officially register, you will go www.games.crossfit.com. Do not forget to put CrossFit 808 as your affiliate!
If you would also like to help us with judging, please take the Judge's Course. If you already took the Judge's Course for the 2019 Open (the Open we just did in February), you do not need to retake it.
CrossFit 808's Open Schedule:
On Friday, the workout of the day for the 6:00am, 8:30am, and 12:00pm classes will be the Open workout of the week. Friday evening we will host our Friday Night Lights (FNL) event from about 5:00pm - 7:00pm. To sign-up for a heat, you will just register on Zen Planner like normal. If you cannot make it on Friday, we have a Second Chance opportunity on Sundays at 10:00am! You can also sign-up for that on Zen Planner.

For time:
200-Foot Dumbbell Overhead Walking Lunge (50/35 lb DB)
50 Dumbbell Box Step-Ups (24″/20″)
50 Strict Handstand Push-Ups
200-Foot Handstand Walk
Time Cap = 10:00
Both the lunges and handstand walk must be broken into 25-foot intervals, with 5-foot segments. You may not walk more than 25-feet in one direction without turning and walking back.

Intramural Scoring
Alright, gang! So sorry this took so long, we had a bunch of last minute additions to our Open roster and I had to make sure they got onto a team. Here is the breakdown of the scoring for our first ever Intramural!
There are 3 ways to score for your team each week/workout: PARTICIPATION, PERFORMANCE, and SPIRIT!

- PARTICIPATION: whichever team has the higher number of athletes who complete the workout for that week.
- PERFORMANCE: we have 3 Intramural Skill Levels -- Open RX, Open Scaled, and Open Modified. All Open Workouts must be completed as prescribed within each level in order to be scored. Each team will then have a Performance Subtotal, which is the average of all athletes' scores within their skill level. Then each skill level subtotal is given a placement.
- SPIRIT: each week we will have a theme for the Open! The team with the most spirit will get this "W"!

The 2019 Open is here!
Just like in the past Opens, workouts will be announced on Thursdays, which means we will be doing the "Open Workout" of the week on Fridays. The 6:00am, 8:30am, and noon classes will have the "Open Workout" programmed as their workout of the day (WOD).
In the afternoon/evening we will hold our "Friday Night Lights" event with the first heat beginning promptly at 4:30pm. The box will open at 4:00pm for athletes to come in and warm-up/mobilize. Heat schedules will be posted Thursday evening, so don't forget to sign-up on the Zen Planner schedule by Thursday at 5:00PM.
If you cannot make Friday to perform the Open Workout, we will have our "Second Chance Sundays" which will start around 9:30am. You must find street parking for this event as New Hope holds their Sunday services in the morning.
All scores must be submitted by Monday at 5pm (Pacific Time) for the respective week. Be aware that DST occurs on Sunday, March 10th, which will bump our time difference to 3 hours from Pacific Time.

They put a ton of time and effort into making sure the Open runs smoothly for everyone.

- Friday Classes – Members will have the option to perform the Open workouts during any of the morning group classes - 6:00am, 8:30am and Noon.
- Friday Night Lights – Please cooperate with us and find street parking for this event if possible. We expect a large number of athletes and we must leave parking open for other tenants during the evening.
- Second Chance Sundays – You MUST find street parking for this event as New Hope holds their Sunday services in the morning.
